What To Expect

During your free consultation, we’ll iron out the details of your appointment. In general, expect the following:

A freckle session will last about 1.5 hours, while a beauty mark will last 30 minutes.
A beauty mark added to another service will extend the duration by 15 minutes.
Pain is minimal compared to body art tattoos.
Recovery will take approximately 2 weeks.
At the end of your session, you’ll receive a free aftercare package to help care for your tattoo while it heals.

The following timeline lays out what recovery will look like for the majority of freckle and beauty mark clients.

Day 1

Healing

For the first day following your appointment, you may notice redness, irritation or minor swelling around the beauty mark or freckles. You may also find that the color of the pigment is darker than you expected. This is a normal part of the healing process; the final healed tattoo will be 20-40% lighter than it looks today.

Healing

The redness, swelling, and irritation should subside by the third day. Light scabbing may begin to form over the beauty mark or freckles.

A thin, dry layer will form over the beauty mark or freckles, protecting the skin beneath as it heals and allows the ink to settle. You may experience itching during this part of the healing process.

Days 8-10

Healing

The new skin at the tattoo site should be fully healed within 10 days. Once the skin is ready, the dry layer on top will begin to flake off. It is important that you not peel or pick at the skin; let it exfoliate naturally on its own to ensure even color retention.

Note that the color of your beauty mark or freckles may still look a little dark. Though the skin has fully healed, it can take another week or two for the color to set and the final look to be achieved. I ask that you trust the healing process and reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
